Meal prep basics: eating well through a busy week

Home / Blog / Meal prep basics: eating well through a busy week

Meal prep simply means deciding what you will eat before the week starts, so that good choices are the easy choices. You do not need a complicated system to make it work.

Start with how many meals you need

Count the meals you actually eat at home, at work or after the gym each day. That number – not an idealised plan – is what you should prepare for. It is also how our weekly meal plans are built.

Balance each plate

A simple rule of thumb is a source of protein, a portion of carbohydrate and plenty of vegetables. If you are cutting down on carbohydrates, swap the carbohydrate for a second portion of vegetables.

Keep it varied

Eating the same meal every day is the fastest way to give up. Rotate a few favourites and try something new each week.

Let someone else do the cooking

If time is the problem, ready-prepared meals give you the benefits of meal prep without the batch cooking. Take a look at our menu.
